Biography

Laura Clark Fey is Principal at Fey LLC, a data privacy and cybersecurity consulting firm she founded in 2014. She specializes in privacy law, information governance, eDiscovery, and AI governance for U.S. and multinational organizations.

Laura is one of only 27 U.S. lawyers recognized as an IAPP Privacy Law Specialist and was a member of the inaugural class of IAPP Fellows of Information Privacy (FIP). She holds multiple privacy certifications including CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, and the Certified AI Governance Professional (AIGP) designation.

She developed extensive global privacy expertise starting in 2009, particularly with European privacy matters, while working at a boutique e-discovery firm. She then recognized an opportunity to build a firm focused specifically on privacy and information governance solutions.

Before founding Fey LLC, Laura was an equity partner at an Am Law 100 firm, where she spent 20+ years developing her litigation and trial experience. She also served as an Honor's Program attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, where she received an Outstanding Performance Award.

Laura teaches Global Data Protection Law at the University of Kansas School of Law (since 2020) and previously taught at Baylor Law School's Executive LL.M. program. She is a Chickasaw Nation citizen and a founding member of the University of Kansas Law School Diversity Advisory Council.
